Russell was a partner at the Grief Recovery Institute and co-author of The Grief Recovery Method. After 9/11, he became the go-to Grief expert on CNN and had a number of media appearances in the aftermath of national tragedies to help guide parents when children suffered loss. He was also a guest lecturer at academic institutions and had consulted with major companies.
